Emily Potts
Emily Potts is an Adjunct Professor in Corporate Communication and Public Affairs.
A Chicago native and proud cum laude graduate ÎçÒ¹AV's Corporate Communication and Public Affairs program, Potts is the Founder and CEO of EGP Strategies, a boutique strategic communications and public relations agency serving clients across the country. With experience spanning both Fortune 10 corporate communications and agency leadership, she specializes in strategic communications, media relations, executive thought leadership, internal communications and reputation management.
Potts is passionate about helping organizations communicate with purpose, whether launching a national media campaign, guiding executive messaging or developing employee communications strategies. She brings real-world industry experience into the classroom, equipping students with practical skills and insights they can immediately apply in their careers.
An active member of the SMU and Dallas communities, Potts serves as President of the SMU CCPA Alumni Council and is a former member of the SMU Young Alumni Board, as well as the Meadows 2050 Council. She previously served as Co-President of the Genesis Young Leaders Board and volunteers with Highland Park United Methodist Church's BELONG Ministry.
Potts lives in Dallas with her husband and three children.
