SMU Meadows’ recently launched Division of Design combines three likeminded programs that drive innovation at the intersection of technology, design and business: Creative Computing, the Master of Arts in Design and Innovation (MADI) and SMU Guildhall. Uniting these programs under one division allows the School to hone and deliver unique pedagogy for a variety of needs, while supporting technological and creative forward-thinkers that will further the multidisciplinary fields of design.
Creative Computing is a highly interdisciplinary program that combines theory and methodology from computer science and engineering with aesthetic principles and creative practice from the arts.
The M.A. in Design and Innovation (MADI) teaches the Human-Centered Design process, encouraging research through design and design through research, while fostering active learning environments that prioritize hands-on projects and group work.
Recognized as one of the first and best graduate programs for game design, SMU Guildhall has been at the forefront of training the next generation of game developers for over 20 years and offers specializations in all four cornerstones of game development.
