The Office of Research and Innovation (ORI) manages review, negotiation, and routing of research contracts for the signature ÎçÒ¹AV’s Authorized Organizational Representative.

Research contracts managed by ORI include agreements to accept external funding (examples: incoming subawards, cooperative agreements, and sponsored research agreements), agreements to fund expenses for certain direct costs (examples: outgoing subawards and consultant agreements), and non-funded agreements in support of research (examples: non-disclosure agreements, data sharing and use agreements, and material transfer agreements).

Principal Investigators and other SMU research personnel do not have the authority to sign research contracts.
