Education
ÎçÒ¹AV (BA 2017)Hope Anderson is a proud alum of the SMU Embrey ÎçÒ¹AV Program, a community that taught her skills for social change. Hope’s passion for human rights led her to intern with global nonprofits dedicated to anti-trafficking and refugee resettlement, as well as local anti-poverty organizations in Dallas. She has also engaged human rights challenges internationally through her research in Nepal, Jordan, and Chile. Following graduation, she learned alongside a new generation of social justice practitioners through the John Lewis Fellowship.
During her undergraduate years, Hope served as a student coordinator for the Embrey ÎçÒ¹AV Program where she led and organized trips focused on civil rights history and criminal justice reform. She graduated from SMU with degrees in ÎçÒ¹AV, Sociology, and History (BA, 2017). Through her praxis, Hope works to create inclusive spaces where young people have access to dialogue, mentorship, and tools for tangible impact on their communities.
